No one expects to experience a roofing problem. But, when there is one, Owens Corning™ Roofing is committed to processing your warranty claim quickly. As you are completing the Create Warranty Claim form, you have the ability to save your claim at any time if you need to step away. Upon completing the form, you will be assigned a warranty claim number for tracking your claim or communicating with an Owens Corning representative.
In order to process your claim, we require several pieces of information:
Two full-sized shingle samples from the problem area
Specific photographs of the entire structure
Proof of ownership
Proof of roof purchase
To create a warranty claim, you may login using the profile created at the time of warranty registration. If you have not registered your property for warranty, you need to create a profile for access to system before proceeding with the claim. The Create Warranty Claim link is displayed in the left-hand pane when you successfully log in to the Warranty Resource Center application. Clicking on this link displays the Create Warranty Claim page.
A user is also redirected to the Warranty Management Application when he clicks on File Warranty Claim link on www.owenscorning.com.
The Create Warranty Claim is a five step process which are explained below in detail. To view a particular step details, click on the section header. This will expand the section showing all fields under it. Likewise, clicking on the section header of an expanded section collapses it hiding all fields under it.
The Step 1 section guides you to select Property and Product for which you want to report a warrantable failure.
Select/Create Property: Clicking the magnifier icon displays the Property Information page. This page enables you to select a property on which product is installed. Selecting a property from the list makes the property address the default address for communication.
Following fields are displayed in this section after you select the property from the Property Info page. These are:
Name
Address Line 1
Address Line 2
City
State
Postal/Zip Code
Country
Phone
Email Address
The information in the above fields is automatically populated for the customer.
If a warranty registration has not been completed for your property, following message is displayed in this section: "Please submit Warranty Registration on your property." A link to submit the warranty registration is also shown.
If only one product is registered for warranty, the product registration information is automatically populated in the following fields:
Product: Product shows information such as Shingles, Insulation etc.
Model: Model represents the type of Owens Corning shingles you have purchased and registered for warranty.
Color: Color of Shingles
Squares Installed: Quantity of Owens Corning product installed on your property.
If more than one products are installed, then, select a product from the available options for which you are filing a claim.
Enter some additional information in this section such as the shift code on the product.
Shift Code on Shingle Packaging
Shift code can be obtained from your shingle packaging. Click Continue after entering all the above information. The Claim Details page is displayed with the following details:
The Claim Details are displayed on top of page 2. To view this section details, click on the section header. This will expand the section showing all fields under it. By default, this section information is collapsed and displays the customer, property, registration information and other information captured on claim page 1 under the following fields:

This section displays a link Please indicate where concerned material is installed. Click this link to select the location of the roof surface where the material concern is located. In addition to the fault location, enter the following information.
Is your entire roof affected? - Yes/No
Which of the following best describes your problem (from pre-defined list)
Condition Found - use this space to describe your concern and any pertinent information in detail
After completing the Customer Concern Information section, you need to provide the Contractor information. If you have already selected a contractor to address your concern, please provide the requested information for the contractor. Note: Selecting a contractor and providing their information at claim initiation may help expedite your claim. However, if you have not selected a contractor, suggestions are provided. Please continue completing the claim without contractor information.
Click on the magnifier icon in the Select/Edit Contractor field to display a list of contractors based on your zip code combination. If contractor information does not exist, you can create a new contractor by entering the following information for the contractor:

A Supplier refers to the Owens Corning material dealer or distributor from whom you will be procuring the material for repair. You can search and select an existing supplier from the supplier list by clicking on the magnifier icon in the Select Supplier field.
The Impacted Materials section is pre-populated with product/model information you previously provided. At this point you must enter the quantity of the impacted area (in Squares). This section displays following information.

Note: You may need assistance in determining shingle area affected by your claim. The roofing unit of measure by a roofing professional is a “square” or “squares”. One square equals 100 square feet. There is no need to get on the roof to measure the area yourself, an approximate measurement using exterior dimensions of the structure (length * width) is acceptable.
As explained earlier, you are required to send samples and supporting information to Owens Corning to facilitate processing of your claim. In this section, you can provide your preference about providing samples and additional information. If you are working with a contractor, they can help you collect these details.
Do you want all communication regarding this claim to be sent only through email?: Select either Yes or No from this dropdown.
Note: the claimant (homeowner or contractor) will be notified through email for all the following events:
Claim submitted
Claim approved/denied
Claim payment generated
Claim returned to claimant for more information
Was any repair or remodeling work done on the property in last 6 months?: Select either Yes or No from this dropdown.
In this section, you may attach documents such as proof of roofing material purchase or proof of ownership to expedite claim processing. You may also attach photographs of the problem area. To attach a document, click Attach. A pop-up window will then be shown. Click the Browse button to browse through your system for the document location. After you have identified the exact location of the document(s), click Attach. To delete an entry, click on the option.
If you would like others to be notified regarding this claim, please provide their contact information in this section. Click Add Row to enter details under the following fields:
Contact Type: Select the Contact Type from this drop down
Contact: Provide name of the contact (first and last name)
Email Address: e-mail address of the contact
In the Condition Found field, you may enter any additional comments you wish to convey to Owens Corning regarding this claim.
Note: Simply describe the concern in your own words. To help support your description, it is also helpful to attach photos of the issue. You may upload your photos with the warranty claim. We strongly recommend that you safely obtain your photos; use a second story window or have a roofing contractor do it for you.
This section also displays the service agreement I agree to the Owens Corning Terms and Conditions for Systems Use and Accuracy of Information with a checkbox. You may click on "Terms and Conditions" to read all Owens Corning terms and conditions related to the use of warranty resource center system.
After providing necessary details in all mandatory fields, you may take one of the following actions on the claim:
Delete: Click this button to delete the claim from system.
Cancel: Click this button to close the Create Warranty Claim page without saving any details entered after the last save.
Go to Page 1: Click this button to go to Page 1. You can edit the data entered on page 1.
Save as Draft: Click this button to save all details entered by you on this page. The claim will be saved as a draft.
Submit Claim: This button is enabled only after you agree to the terms and conditions and select the checkbox in the Step 5 of 5 section. Click this button to submit the claim.
